Cobh Animation Team on Tour

22 Oct 2012

These ladies are having a blast travelling all over Ireland promoting their town and all Cobh has to offer. And it’s working! This week we toured up the East Coast to participate in a major Fashion Event in Enniscorthy. But we made the most of the journey.

15 of the TEAM left Cobh in our full Titanic Gear, laden down with vouchers and special offers from all 3 of our hotels for the winter season. Stopping in Youghal for morning coffee and a scone at the Red Store in Youghal was excellent. The locals got so much pleasure in taking photos and being photographed with the ladies. When we are out and about as a group of ladies sometimes we forget we are all dressed up for the occasion! We met up with some great friends from PERKS and Youghal Chamber of Commerce.

Waterford was our next stop and STOP was the word when Waterford Glass showrooms stopped for over an hour for an amazing photo shoot with the Ladies of the Team. What a backdrop! It was amazing. There was no stopping the tours at the Bishop’s House in Waterford. The 3 man Animation Team at the House were delighted to be photographed with us and even included us as part of the tour of the house.

Riverside Park Hotel hosted our team for a fashion event that was so different. Anne Doyle of RTE fame was there to hand over to Claire Cullinane to tell the story of the History and Heritage of COBH through the costumes worn by the ladies of the team. Cobh Regatta, Camden one of our many friends in the 2nd biggest harbour in the world, Lusitania preparations for the Centenary Commemorations coming up in 2015, our Cruise Liner business and of course the Titanic Commemorations were all depicted through this 20 minute presentation. Vouchers for the special offers were given out after the ‘Standing Ovation’ received by the ladies. Everyone in the audience, all 400, was then gifted with a commemoration Titanic Coin by the Heritage Centre who supported this event and the Team in so many ways.

On our return journey we stopped off to visit our heritage friends at the Dunbrody, Famine Ship in New Ross. The welcome was excellent and Sean, the manager gave us a tour of the ship and , yes you guessed it, another photo shoot! But the perfect end to a perfect trip was our visit to PERKS in Youghal on the way home . Loreen, the manageress was there to welcome us as Sal was away in Germany on business. Chris put the Victorian Carousel in motion and all 15 members took a trip back to their childhood. It was perfect…. and yes there were photographers from all over East Cork there to capture the moment. The pure excitement and fun is seen in every photo.

There is no place like home and especially when home is COBH . Now home and rested we are in the planning for the West Coast Tour on Nov. 1st. If you would like us to visit You, your Business, your Event or your Heritage site just contact us on facebook : Cobh Animation Team. While there you can check out all the amazing photos of our tour around Ireland so far! All appearances are FREE so send us an invite now on 087 256 5728.
