The Nulas at Ballymaloe Grainstore

31 July

Dripping kooky, faux glamour, The Nualas will win you over with their nutty lyrics, zany tunes and endearingly silly dresses. They had a capacity crowd eating out of their hands. – Evening Standard

They are buffed, they are detoxed, they are booty-lish, and they are totally up for it!

The singing comedy trio are jetting into the Grainstore for one night only with their shiniest show ever. Expect shine, glitz, and cleavage (on their knees). Also expect acrobatic vocals, stunning instrumentation, and provocative chat about current stuff. They’ll serenade and entertain with self-penned original songs such as Stay at Home Dad (about a dad who stays at home), Finn (a robust ancient Irish ballad that The Nualas made up), and Wolf Song (a song about a musical about wolves).

Prepared to be Nuala’ed!

“The Nualas have put comedy and music in the blender and come up with a world class act.” – Sunday Times

“Staggeringly impressive three-part harmonies and a savage, biting wit.” – Metro

“Dammit! The Nualas can sing and make your face ache from laughing.” – Time Out (New York)

“Saucy, sassy, racy, ridiculous.” – Edinburgh Fringe Review

About The Nualas:

Last year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Scotsman nominated The Nualas one of the top five comedy shows out of the thousands at the festival. Their headline gigs at Dublin’s Vodafone Comedy Festival sold-out and spread the glam all over from Antrim to Bantry.

Originally formed in 1995, the all-girl trio toured internationally for seven years, playing consecutive sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival as well as extended theatre seasons in London, Dublin and New York. They’ve headlined the first Singapore International Comedy Festival, appeared at the Royal Albert Hall where they met Chris de Burgh. They chalked up innumerable radio and TV appearances across the globe, including writing and recording several radio series for BBC Radio 4 and appearing on The Late, Late Show.

The Nualas are Anne Gildea (brunette Nuala), Sue Collins (blonde Nuala), and Maria Tecce (red-head Nuala).
