LUSITANIA MEMORIAL FLOTILLA:
As part of Lusitania Centenary Commemorations, a Memorial Flotilla will assemble in the vicinity of the Dog Nose at the south of the harbour at 20.00 hrs on the 7th May 2015.
The Flotilla will comprise of Fishing Vessels, Leisure Craft and small Commercial Craft. The Flotilla will proceed to Whitepoint passing close by the Promenade on the waterfront at Cobh. When the Flotilla is abeam Kennedy Pier, one vessel will proceed alongside to disembark the Cunard Flag to a waiting congregation, who will proceed to the Promenade to a final commemoration. The Flotilla will proceed under engine power with all available lights on, subject to safe navigation. The assembly and movement of all participating vessels will be co- ordinated by a Flotilla Captain in conjunction with the Port Of Cork Pilot Station. Berthage, if required will be provided by Cove Sailing Club at their new marina.
