GAA superstar, winner of six All Ireland medals and former Taoiseach, Corkman Jack Lynch became not only a sporting folk hero and legend but also one of the most popular politicians ever to be elected on this island.
JACK is a new play which marks the centenary of his birth in 1917. It looks at not only some of the peaks of an extraordinary career but also its most turbulent period when the peace and security of this country was gravely challenged.
Declan Hassett is a former editor of the Evening Echo and Arts Editor of the Irish Examiner. He is the author of numerous books on social and sporting history. His play SISTERS, starring the late Anna Manahan, toured all over Ireland and also played Off Broadway New York.
