Christmas in Cobh officially kicks off this Saturday 26th November with an afternoon of Christmas cheer followed by the switching on of the Cobh Christmas Lights.
Santa will be stopping by the lobby of the Commodore Hotel at 3pm to meet and greet the children, pose for photographs and may even have little surprises for them! Free face painting will be on offer in the Commodore Hotel too.
Also from 3pm there will be an array of Christmas music on the Promenade Bandstand and at 4.15pm complimentary hot chocolate from Truly Scrumptious Caterers will be on offer for children, courtesy of AIB Bank, Cobh.
The Children’s Torch Lit Procession has become an annual favourite and this year the procession will depart from The Promenade Playground at 5pm led by the Cobh Animation Team and travel along the waterfront to the Christmas tree where the lights will be switched on by one lucky child, the winner of an art competition organised by Cobh and Harbour Chamber and See You in Cobh.
The whole afternoon’s activities are a coming together of community spirit and businesses to show Cobh at its best. The Christmas Lights are erected by Cobh and Harbour Chamber with support from the Cobh Municipal District. This is the 9th year that See You in Cobh have organised events to coincide with the switching on of the Cobh Christmas Lights.
