The Craft and Design Fair at Ballymaloe returns for its sixth year of offering work by more than 100 of Ireland’s best craft professionals in Ballymaloe Grainstore and The Big Shed in Shanagarry, East Cork.  The Fair, which is now one of the biggest in the country, takes place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November from 10am – 6pm.   Admission is free thanks to sponsorship by The Village Green Grocer and Food Hall in Castlemartyr.

Christmas shoppers will be spoilt for choice among more than 100 stands offering fine textiles, pottery, jewelry, wood and glass work, paper crafts, fine art, children’s toys and dolls, cosmetics, confectionary, knit wear, and much more.

It’s a stress-free shopping experience with a distinctive Ballymaloe twist, as browsers can pause for coffee and delicious hot food served by local ‘kitchen heroes’ in The Big Shed.  If the weather is fine, take a stroll through the woodlands and the walled garden that keeps Ballymaloe House in fresh vegetables all year long.

The Living Craft area is back again this year.  It will showcase skills from a cross section of craft makers and food producers.  Interactive stands and tastings will delight visitors as they watch and enjoy these masters of food, drink and craft doing what they do best – creating something of beauty by hand.

Over six years The Craft & Design Fair at Ballymaloe has built a national reputation as the pre-eminent crafts  show south of Dublin for the winter season.  Ballymaloe is located in Shanagarry, 20 miles east of Cork City.
