From 21 – 23 June we are really excited to have a giant moon installation, Museum of the Moon by Luke Jerram in CIT’s Nexus Hall on the Bishoptown Campus.  This seven metres diameter installation features detailed NASA imagery of the surface  with an accompanying atmospheric soundtrack by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer, Dan Jones.  For more details see here: www.corkmidsummer.com/programme/event/museum-of-the-moon.

Running from 16-18 and 23-27 June acclaimed theatre company Graffiti Theatre present their delightful play The Gardener, particularly suitable for 6 – 8 year olds, parents and carers.

On 16 until 18 June join us for the atmospheric  Dream of Light, mashing up the aesthetic of Japanese animation and the realm of classic Asian movies, using movement, illiusion and modern technology.  For more details see here:

On 18 June we have our family favourite Picnic in the Park, a whole afternoon of FREE arts entertainment and activities throughout Cork’s fantastic Fitzgerald Park.  Complete with the opportunity to participate in Ireland’s largest ever Maypole Dance,The JIG In The Park! For more details see here:

On the same weekend, direct from France we have for the younger ones aged 2 – 6 years the mechanical fairground cow ride ‘Cow Go Round’ powered by parents on Grand Parade on 16 until 17 June, and Fitzgerald Park on 18 June.  See:

Join us on 21 June, Midsummer’s Day, 6pm for a FREE classical concert Fleischmann In The Glen, as a homage to Aloys Fleischmann and his work.  Suitable for all ages and audiences, from those who might never have seen or heard a symphony orchestra to those well-versed – all are encouraged to come along!  Free but ticketed:

Join in the FREE outdoors event Global Water Dances at UCC, midday on 24 June to raise awareness of global water issues.  Movers of all ages and abilities welcome! For more details see:
