2017 Cork Harbour Festival – The Queenstown Story Exhibition
Cobh Heritage Centre9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
10 June
An educational, informative and sometimes emotional exhibition that tells the stories of social, naval and maritime history of Cork. Learn about the earlier emigration to the colonies of America and the West Indies, the transportation of convicts to Australia as well as the mass emigration to Canada and the United States during and after the Great Famine. The close connection between Cobh and the two great liners – Titanic and the Lusitania are also chillingly recalled. An unmissable and poignant exhibition.
