Long hailed as one of Ireland’s leading songwriters and performers, Kieran Goss’s music has won him fans across the globe. But if his songs have made him a star, his live shows have made him a legend – live on stage is where Kieran Goss really shines. Ballymaloe Grainstore is delighted to welcome back Kieran on Sunday 9 August at 8pm.
His shows are a testament not only to a catalogue of beautifully melodic and well-crafted songs, but also proof that Kieran is an engaging and captivating performer. The Irish Times wrote, “The sense of fun is tremendous, the playing first rate and the songs are sheer quality. The encores were genuine, but only because the man is too.”
The County Down native lives in Sligo with his musician wife, Ann Kinsella, who joins him on stage. But their time at home is precious, as this in-demand artist is constantly touring the globe. “We’ve opted to ‘live the dream,’ says Kieran. “We have chosen to live a certain way that puts music and touring and art and poetry and a sense of freedom at the centre of our lives.”
And of course, songs are at the centre of his show. “Songs are what it’s really about, but it’s also more than that. There are stories and entertainment. There’s craic. It’s a good night out, not a heavy night out.”
With eight studio albums under his belt, Kieran has a wealth of music in his archive that few live performers can match. HIs most recent release, I’ll Be Seeing You, was recorded in Austin, Texas.
Kieran Goss has an amazing ability to reach out to his audience and connect with them in a very special way, winning the hearts of everyone in the room.
