This week at Curraheen Park we have two nights of 12 races! Friday night we are looking forward to the final of the Curraheen Park A5 525 final. This stake started off with 24 dogs, down to the final six, one of which will take home €1,000 and a trophy. Trap 6, Knockainey, is tipped for victory, owned and trained by Breda Moloney (Mallow).
The first round of the Curraheen Park Dual Distance is also set for this Friday night. With 18 dogs in the first round heats, the first race is a distance of 525 yards. The first 2 dogs from each heat will qualify for the final which is set for next week Friday 8th, at a distance of 575 yards.
The second round of The Guinness Trophy will be the highlight of Saturday nights card. With runners such as Sede Vacante, Nicken Builder, Ryecourt Fox and Newlawn Toc still in with a chance of glory, all eyes will be on Curraheen Park this weekend on the approach to the final of the 49th annual Guinness Trophy when the winner will come away with €3,200!
The first round of The Barryroe GAA Stakes is also featured on Saturday nights race card. This A2 stake has a total of 24 dogs running, with €1,350 and a trophy for the winner on the night of the final which is set for February 15th.
Our Saturday Night Special sponsored by GOBA will run as usual this Saturday, with prize money of €350 for the winner on the night. The Harrington Assessors Getting Out Stakes will also feature on Saturdays race card with €430 prize money going to the winner.
Racing every Friday and Saturday night until March 7th where racing will return to every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Doors at 6.45 with first race at 7.50.
