Last Saturday night will go down in history at Curraheen Park! Laurels favorite, Ballymac Vic broke the track record set by Droopys Robinho at 28.03 exactly 5 years on! Broken by Droopys Robinho on the 29th of September 2007 and held for exactly 5 years until last Saturday night, the 29th of September, when Ballymac Vic came in at an astounding 27.94. Ballymac Vic now holds the fastest 525 title at Curraheen Park and is the favorite to become the Connolly’s Red Mills Irish Laurels winner on October 20th with odds of 7-4.
This Thursday we are looking forward to the Killavullen School Development Tri Distance Semi Final. Down to just the last 12 dogs, this stake offers €900 and a trophy to the winner on the night of the final next week, Friday 12th, when Killavullen School will be here for their fundraising night.
Ballymartle GAA will be joining us here on Friday for their Benefit Night. The featured race that night will be the final of the Farmco Stake, an A6 525 where the winner will take away €500 and a trophy.
Saturday night we are all set for the quarter finals of The Connolly’s Red Mills Irish Laurels. Strong contenders such as Money Talks, Cuil Cougar, Knockglass Billy, Confident Rankin and Razldazl Rioga are all still in with a strong chance against new record breaker Ballymac Vic for The Connolly’s Red Mills Irish Laurels title on October 20th.
Our Saturday night regulars will also take place – The Droopys Cain/ Broadstrand Lad @ Stud Getting Out Stakes and The Cork GOBA Saturday Night Special with €400 and €320 going to the winners respectively, topping up Saturdays prize money and making it a night of racing one not to be missed!
