“Carols by Candlelight” with The Carrigaline Choral Group
Christmas is here again and the staff at Fota House are busy putting up and decorating Christmas trees for its annual Carol Concert. A firm favourite Christmas event for the last eleven years, demand for tickets is extremely heavy.
The Concert will be held on Tuesday 6 th December at 8 pm. This year’s Concert will be given again by the “The Carrigaline Choral Group”, who are now synonymous with Fota House and was formed at the beginning of September 2009 as a mixed choir of over thirty five singers. They have now won top awards at Choral Festivals in Waterford, Wicklow and the International Choral Festival in Cork. They hope the choir will make a trip abroad in 2017, either to the Eisteadfad in Llangollen in Wales or to the International Peace Competition in Vienna.
Their Musical Director, Aonghus Joyce, has a Master’s Degree from the Cork School of Music. The Choir will be accompanied by Anne Ralph. Their secretary Mary Malone looks forward to entertaining Christmas audiences with a traditional programme of much loved Carols.
The Choir will be supported by special guests Dan Twomey, Tenor soloist, as seen on RTE’s “The Voice”, by well known classical guitarist duo, Colin McLean and David Keating and by the Tracton Harp Ensemble, leader Orla Busteed.
As in former years, complimentary Wine and Mince pies will be served at the Interval.
