Ballymaloe Craft Fair

The Ballymaloe Craft Fair has built a national reputation as a pre-eminent Irish Christmas shopping experience. It returns for the eighth year on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November from 10am until 6pm, offering work by scores Ireland’s finest crafters, artisans and food producers.

The stress-free, one-stop shopping weekend takes place in Ballymaloe Grainstore and The Big Shed on the grounds of Ballymaloe House in Shanagarry, East Cork.

Shoppers will be spoilt for choice by stands offering clothing, confectionary, cosmetics, fine art, furniture, glasswork, jewellery, knitwear, paper crafts, pottery, textiles, toys, woodwork and more.

It is also an opportunity to meet the Irish makers, and learn the stories behind their unique, handmade products.

An abundance of delicious treats, eats and drinks will be provided by local food heroes.   Some should be consumed on the spot, while other food stuffs are suitable to tuck under the Christmas tree, such as plum puddings from the Ballymaloe House kitchen.

While adults browse and graze, small hands will be kept contentedly crafty in a dedicated children’s area.  They’ll be supervised while making Christmas crafts and/or flexing their building skills in the Lego Brickx Club.  Cost is €5 per child for the entire day.

Live music on both afternoons will add to the festive atmosphere.

Admission to the Ballymaloe Craft Fair is €3.  Children under age 16 are free.

Parking is free.
