‘A Margaret River day in East Cork – ‘Surf, Cricket, Wine and Harvest Supper’

Ballymaloe, in association with Tindal Wine Merchants, are delighted to announce, ‘A Margaret River day in East Cork – ‘Surf, Cricket, Wine and Harvest Supper’

We are delighted to announce this unique event, to take place on Thursday 27th September, which connects two famous coastal, surfing, sporting, and food & beverage regions of the world – Margaret River, Western Australia and Shanagarry/Ballycotton Bay, East Cork, in association with Tindal Wine Merchants.

Thursday 27 Sept 2012, at Ballymaloe House, Shanagarry. Co. Cork

Afternoon 4.00pm- 7.00pm Cricket & Surf – open to all

Cricket with the East Cork Cricket Club – who will give a demonstration, and explain the rules of the game to all, and have a go yourself – ‘learn the basics whilst trying out the game’. There will also be a Kite-surfing display & demonstration at Shanagarry Strand, Ballycotton Bay, with William Tindal, Darren & Cullen Allen and fellow surfing enthusiasts,

Evening 7.00pm Wine tasting & Harvest Supper €35

Enjoy a Margaret River wine tasting & presentation, with iconic Australian winemaker, David Hohnen, in The Grain Store, Ballymaloe in association with Tindal Wine Merchants, featuring the wines of McHenry Hohnen, followed by Wildside’s Ted Berner’s ‘Fire-cooking’ Harvest Supper, in association with Ballymaloe.
         
David Hohnen is one of the best known winemakers in the world – he founded Cape Mentelle and also Cloudy Bay, which went on to become one of the wine world’s most iconic wine names. David now makes wine on his family wine estate and organic farm, McHenry Hohnen Wines, in Margaret River, Western Australia. McHenry Hohnen wines are distributed in Ireland by Tindal Wine Merchants.
