BALLYMALOE VINTAGE AND ANTIQUES FAIR

Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 March

Shanagarry, East Cork

10am – 6pm

Free Entry and Parking

The Ballymaloe Vintage and Antiques Fair returns on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 March from 10am to 6pm.  Everything old is new again at this old-fashioned weekend event for all ages.

Stalls bursting with diverse treasures and pleasures will be spread across Ballymaloe Grainstore and The Big Shed in Shanagarry, Co. Cork.  Entry and parking are free of charge.

From the seriously elegant to the wonderfully retro to the gloriously kitsch, it will be two days of unabashedly eclectic  ‘get it while you can’ goodness.  Good food from local food heroes is on hand too, and comfortable seating in The Big Shed.

Cherry pick the very best that Ireland has to offer in retro collectables, home wares, vintage fashion, up-cycles, plus fine mid-century and antique furniture.  The hunt for unusual bits and quirky accent pieces is half the fun, with every visitor ‘curating’ their own Ballymaloe experience.

Burn rubber to Ballymaloe to lust over a dazzling display of better-than-new motors, courtesy of the Kinsale Vintage Car Club, and mint condition vintage tractors from clubs in  Mogeely, Carrigtwohill, Fota Island, and Ballinrostig.

Embrace an opportunity to create your own unique antique of the future by signing up for a Painting and Decoupage Workshop on Saturday taught by Amy Dempsey of Sew Pretty Lovely.  The workshop will run for 2 to 2-1/2 hours beginning at 2pm.  Bring your own piece of furniture – all other materials are provided.  The cost is €70 per person, and advanced booking is required as spaces are limited.  If demand exists, a second workshop will be added on Sunday.  To book, visitwww.ballymaloegrainstore.com.

On Sunday from 2 – 5pm The Cork Light Orchestra will add to the atmosphere by playing instrumental music inspired by the sounds of the 1920s and 30s.

Ballymaloe House will host a tea shop in The Big Shed serving scones, biscuits and other baked treats from the kitchen.

Among the shopping stands is A Little Idea, carrying one-of-a-kind handmade cards and gifts celebrating vintage inspiration and uniqueness.

Fans of mid-century furniture will want to check out Retrorumage, the Dublin-based company that offers some of the best quality and value in vintage furniture and homewares in Ireland.

Kinsale-based ethical clothing company, Wear We Wander, will introduce their new line of made-in-Ireland leather purses and clutches, along with their established (but quite anti-establishment!) ‘boho’ style dresses, trousers, tops and vintage.
