The Ballymaloe Garden Festival is a weekend dedicated to sustainable gardening. The next Ballymaloe Garden Festival will be on Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September 2017!
For 2016 there were more than 50 stalls; plants, garden accessories, seed swapping, local food hero stalls and more.
Workshops, garden walks and talks on composting, the almost forgotten skill of seed saving, urban gardening, edible hedgerows, foraging, preserving and pickling natures’ bounty, flower arranging with natural and native flowers, wild birds, bees, and much more.
Music and plenty of family fun in the Festival #FringeFestival and a Schools Yard Garden – children under 16 are always FREE tp enter the festival all weekend.
Visitors will have the chance to listen to experts and speak to fellow gardeners on how to improve gardening skills in the ‘Book Shop’ Theatre with a full schedule of talks between 10am and 4pm from experts in their field in everything from growing a wildlife friendly garden, what to grow to attract bees and butterflies, growing organic fruit and veg and designing your garden from scratch – see the 2016 festival programme online to a taste of what to expect next year.
Plus you will also have a chance to exhibit your own garden produce, baking and creativity in our Harvest Show – prizes to be won!
