Ortús Chamber Music Festival 2016
Welcome the first Ortús Chamber Music Festival featuring Ireland’s most talented young musicians performing an intriguing mix of chamber music from Baroque to Contemporary!
Under the imaginative artistic direction of leading young Irish musicians, Sinéad O’Halloran and Mairéad Hickey, this year’s festival will feature Mairéad Hickey and Siobhán Doyle (violins), Ed Creedon and Martin Moriarty (violas) and Sinéad O’Halloran and Christopher Ellis (cellos).
The Ortús Festival will present chamber music by Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Dvorák, Tchaikovsky, Kodály and Dohnanyi among others. The musicians will première a newly composed work, “Pause”, by internationally renowned Cork composer, Sam Perkin.
