Habitat & Species
Autumn and winter sees the arrival of large flocks of ducks, including Wigeon, Teal and Tufted Ducks on Rostellan Lake. You may hear the distinctive squeal of the secretive Water Rail calling from the reeds.

About the Area
Rostellan Wood, around the lakeshore, has a great diversity of tree species: Oak, Ash, Beech, Sycamore, Spanish Chestnut, Alder, Birch, Eucalyptus, Japanese Larch and many more. An underground ice-house once can be seen here which was once used as a cold room for storing fish and meat.
